An advice blog for disabled students

Important (Please Read)
  • This blog will of course be from my perspective so although I want to help those with any and all disabilities, mental health issues, neurodivergencies, etc. I cannot cover things specific to your condition because I don’t have it so it would be wrong of me to do so. I am also a bioscience student so some things will be from that perspective. I do however hope to have guest authors in the future with different disabilities and on different courses, etc to provide more specific advice.
  • If you believe any information given in this blog is incorrect in any way, doesn’t make sense or anything else, please email me! Remember this is advice simply from my experiences and what has helped me.
  • If there are any accessibility issues with this site, please let me know and I will try and look into resolving them.

About Us

Spoons in the ocean was set up because when I was preparing to go to university, there was very little advice or anything out there for disabled students.

So I wanted to share everything I’ve learnt or wish I’d known more about from my experiences to hopefully help as many people as I can.
